How the Commander bracket calculator works

The analyzer combines explicit bracket rules with deck-wide signals. It first checks cards that set a minimum bracket, then looks at factors such as fast mana, tutors and compact combos. The result is an explainable estimate for a Rule 0 conversation—not a tournament ruling.

  1. Paste a plain-text Commander decklist into the field above.
  2. Review the recognized card count, then start the analysis.
  3. Use the bracket, triggered rules and card-by-card details to discuss the deck with your table.

Supported decklist format

Use one card per line. Quantities can be written as “1 Card Name” or “1x Card Name”; bare card names also work. Commander and Companion headings are recognized. Sideboard and Maybeboard sections are ignored because they are not part of the played Commander deck.

Commander: Atraxa, Praetors' Voice
1 Sol Ring
1x Arcane Signet
Cyclonic Rift

Set codes and collector-number annotations from common deck exports are accepted. URL import and file upload are not currently available on this page.

What the result includes

You receive an estimated bracket from 1 to 5, the rule or signal that influenced it, recognized commanders, unresolved card names and deck statistics. Because names must be matched, check unresolved entries before relying on the result.

Rules, sources and limitations

Wizards defines the bracket framework and Game Changers list. bluecore.cards independently implements those explicit constraints and publishes the additional scoring signals used for full-deck estimates. A local playgroup can still judge speed, consistency and intent differently, so the result should support—not replace—the pregame conversation.

Commander power level calculator FAQ

How do I calculate my Commander deck's power level?
Paste your decklist into the analyzer above. It checks bracket-defining cards against Wizards' five-bracket framework and weighs additional deck signals to estimate a bracket (1–5), with a card-by-card explanation. No sign-up or payment is required.
Is the Commander bracket calculator free?
Yes. The bluecore.cards power level analyzer is free to use. Paste a plain-text Commander decklist to receive an estimated bracket and the reasons behind it.
What are the Commander brackets?
Wizards' Commander framework describes five brackets from Exhibition through cEDH. The analyzer applies bracket floors from that framework and the Game Changers list, then uses transparent additional signals to estimate where the full deck fits. It is an independent estimate, not an official Wizards tool.
